Economic suggested plan for African countries Mark McIlroy 02.12.2025 Also other poor countries. 1. Leadership. People need to stand up and exercise leadership, who care about the population and not just themselves. 2. UBI Universal Basic Income Poor countries should implement a UBI - i.e. every single adult living in the country should receive a weekly allowance that is enough to buy food. 3. Banking system. There must be a way of storing and transferring money that is safe, fast, reliable, and low cost. 4. Legal system There should be an effective parliament and court system. 5. Encouragement of business Business should be encouraged through fast and fair government regulation, support for development grants (not loans) etc. 6. Rent control Rents should be controlled otherwise a small group will accumulate all the money in the country, leaving the rest of the population starving. 7. Inspirations Singapore. While not perfect and it has its problems, Singapore went from a tropical wilderness to a center of global finance within one generation. 8. Agriculture. Large-scale agriculture must be implemented using large and modern high-capacity equipment. Some African regions have low agricultural productivity however it is not impossible to grow food and it should be done on a large scale, not with hand tools. 9. Retainment of mineral wealth. Many African countries are rich in minerals, and they should tax mining companies accordingly so that the general population can have at least a modest lifestyle.
