Ethics Some notes. Mark McIlroy 19.03.2026 My thoughts on ethics. 1. Good deeds do not cancel out bad deeds. This might seem harsh. However, if God allowed this logic, then people would do sick evil things, with a plan that they would do good deeds later in life and therefore not suffer any punishment. However, if a person doesn't plan ahead, but changes their mind and regrets what they have done, then I believe that good deeds should reset the things that they have done. 2. If you have the chance to kill an innocent person to save a million lives, do not do it. 2.1 Once you kill an innocent person you lose the moral right to live. Yourself, and the million people's lives, will have no meaning. 2.2 The million people can get of their lazy behinds and save themselves. 3. Ethics is based on right and wrong, and not doing something that is wrong. Mathematics has no place in these issues. Ethics is not based on a count of people that benefit versus a count of who is disadvantaged. 4. Something that is 'wrong' mostly comes down to the issue of something that causes harm to a person. 5. I will finish this article with the following thought: 'It is up to human beings to judge a person's actions, and up to God to judge their hearts'.
