employees are usually sourced by placing an advertisement in a shop window, on an internet website, in a newspaper, or by

contacting a recruitment agency

types of employment are:

full-time	approximately 38 hours per week

part-time	20 hours per week or some other length of time

contract	a fixed period of time, usually 3 months or 6 months (there are many problems with this arrangement)

work hours should be specified, e.g. 9am to 5:15pm Monday to friday, 45 minutes lunch break (office sector).

in other industries shifts may apply, e.g. weekdays, saturdays, late shift etc.

employees should be at the work location during the correct hours. permission is generally needed to take annual holidays or not

attend work for the day due to other reasons (e.g. moving house). if not attending then a day is reduced from the annual

leave entitlement.

salary is generally paid weekly or fortnightly, directly into the employee's bank account.

minimum rates apply in most industries. example rates $15 per hour, $25 per hour, etc. $45,000 per year, $65,000 per year,

$85,000 per year etc.
